The People I Met on the Way
From Car Free Day runners in Kigali to community elders in rural villages, the journey is measured in the stories people trust you with.

1. Software Is Abstract; Trust Is Concrete
In software engineering, we track DAUs, retention cohorts, and latency milliseconds. But real companies and sustainable movements are made of people. Trust is never downloaded over an API; it is earned face-to-face, conversation by conversation, handshake by handshake.
2. Running the Boulevards of Kigali
Every other Sunday, Kigali shuts down its main arteries for Car Free Day. Thousands of young people, elders, and professionals pour into the streets to run, exercise, and connect. Leading the Youth Uplift Initiative across these boulevards taught me that community is not an audience; it is a shared heartbeat. When you sweat together, artificial social barriers dissolve.
3. Wisdom Under the Trees in Rural Villages
When deploying educational programs and daily meals through Risevana Foundation, the most vital meetings do not happen in boardrooms. They happen under avocado trees with grandmothers, village headteachers, and local carpenters. They know what the children need far better than any spreadsheet will ever tell you.
4. Guardians of Community Stories
Every community member who shares their struggle, their dream, or their feedback is handing you a sacred trust. Our responsibility as founders is to honor that trust by showing up consistently, shipping what we promised, and never treating human lives as metrics.
