I Went to Dubai Looking for Opportunity. Here’s What I Found.
I went looking for founders, capital and a little bit of chaos, and found that world-class ambition begins with local conviction.

1. The Velocity of Audacious Scale
Dubai operates on an unmistakable frequency: sheer ambition made tangible in steel, glass, and capital. Towers that scrape the clouds rise where sand once stretched undisturbed. Meeting founders and venture builders across the emirate was an exhilarating masterclass in what happens when infrastructure, capital, and speed converge.
2. Fragility in the Absence of Roots
Yet amidst the luxury and mega-rounds, a deeper lesson became apparent. When ambition is detached from real, ground-level friction, companies become fragile. Scaling for the sake of valuation creates illusions. The most enduring businesses in human history solved unglamorous, foundational problems for real communities.
3. Bringing Global Conviction Back to Kigali
Walking through Dubai's financial centers, my conviction did not shift away from Rwanda; it doubled down on it. Africa is not waiting to be handed ready-made solutions from abroad. The greatest tech opportunities of the next fifty years are right here—building edtech systems, agency software, and decentralized community networks where access is currently zero.
4. Building World-Class at the Frontier
World-class does not mean living in Dubai or Silicon Valley. World-class means operating with uncompromising excellence, shipping robust code, and creating real human leverage wherever you stand. We take global ambition and anchor it in local soil.
